The Community Coordinator is a service position focused on increasing participation and connections within Hackrva

Community Coordinator

  • Robert E Kramer
  • Expected term: May - August 2015
  • Time commitment: 2 - 5 hrs / week
  • "My primary purpose is to increase our feeling of connection to Hackrva and to each other. I believe by collaborating together we can all get more out of our Hackrva experience."

Current Challenges (May 2015)

  • A few members do the vast majority of administrative work and general maintenance of the facilities
  • Safety and equipment training needs to be standardized, easily available to all members, and followed.
  • It typically takes a while for members to feel comfortable and start making projects

Goals

  • Increase member service participation.
    • The long term health of the organization requires the work of maintaining Hackrva be distributed.
    • We've tried different volunteer strategies. I hope to make incremental improvement.
  • Provide a framework for future development and improvement
    • Find some useful metrics to gauge how effective policies are.
    • Document the experience so that the role of Community Coordinator is defined and the next person can easily step in and continue progressing
