The Grizzly Double Dust Collector is the center of keeping dust off the floors, the tools, and peoples projects at hackRVA so it's important that we do what we can to help keep it running properly. It is equipped with a current sensing relay so it is automatically triggered when the tools attached to it are turned on. That leaves one thing for us to do. Grizzly Double Dust Collector
hackRVA's Dust collection system is a 3HP Double Canister Dust Collector with Aluminum Impeller - Polar Bear Series.
Description (from Grizzly)
This dust collector is exactly the same as our popular G0562Z, but in our dazzling white Polar Bear Series color scheme. Want the ultimate dust collector in your shop? Then this powerful dust collector is just what you need. Simply move the convenient top mounted lever back and forth to remove any dust caked onto the filter, and in seconds you are back to full performance capacity. The steel duct from the impeller to the filter improves performance and reliability and with just a glance you'll know when it's time to haul out the chips thanks to clear bottom bags. Extra bags ship with the machine and are available from us to really make cleaning easy. CSA certified meeting CSA C22.2 #71.2-08 and UL 987-7 standards!
Function
The Grizzly Double Dust Collector is connected via the 7" duct coming out of the bottom of it running along the wall to the Table Saw, the Miter Saw, the Band Saw, and other tools and acts as a giant vacuum drawing in all of the sawdust and debris dispersed while cutting with it's 3 horsepower motor and dispensing it into the giant bags attached to it. It turns on automatically when a power sensing device detects that any one of the machines is on, and for five minutes after the power is off. (That time is to allow all dust to be sucked through the pipes, and also to prevent short cycles on the motor. Large motors can be damaged by repeatedly turning on and off quickly, like if you were doing cuts on the chop saw.) The switch on the dust collector should be left on. The control box has a switch with 2 positions: ON and AUTO. On bypasses the current sensing. AUTO functions as described.
Safety
The Grizzly Double Dust Collector is the center of keeping dust off the floors, the tools, and peoples projects at hackRVA so it's important that we do what we can to help keep it running properly. It is equipped with a current sensing relay so it is automatically triggered when the tools attached to it are turned on. That leaves one thing for us to do. We need to move the handles back and forth regularly to clear dust from the filters to restore 100% performance capacity.
